This DIY shoulder rig project is a great way to have your own affordable shoulder rig that is adjustable and will last a long time.

Made for small DSLR and Mirrorless cameras, this shoulder rig puts your camera's LCD far enough forward to make it comfortable to look at, eliminating the need for an external monitor.

The design includes rosette style connections on the handles to make them easily adjustable.

Please note that this project requires some hardware to be completed, which you will have to purchase yourself.

Materials needed:

  • P200 quick release plate
  • 1" Aluminum tubes of the following lengths:- 11,5''- 6,5''- 3,5'' x2
  • 1kg roll of PETG filament
  • 3/8'' long 1/4-20 button head screws
  • 1'' long 1/4-20 button head screws
  • 1 1/4'' long 1/4-20 hex head screws
  • 1/4-20 hex nuts

Tools used to build the shoulder rig: 

  • Pipe cutter
  • Deburring tool
  • Screwdriver
  • Electric drill 
  • Sand paper
  • Exacto knife
  • Measuring Tape
  • Black marker
  • Super glue
  • Clear hockey tape
  • P200 quick release baseplate

Recommended print settings:

  • 6mm Nozzle
  • 3 walls
  • 50% gyroid infill
